Programs for Adults

Middletown Book Discussion Group meets at 6:00pm on the first Thursday of each month from fall to spring at Middletown Public Library.

Programs for Pre-Schoolers:

 

Teens Read to Kids.  Teens are the guest readers for our popular weekly storytime, for children ages 2-6.  The theme is "Make a Splash" and will have a watery theme.  Join us for stories, finger plays, songs and other special activities.  No registration is required.  Just come on in!

Thursdays, 10:30am - June 24th, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, August 5, 12

 

Wee Readers! This interactive program, designed for babies up to 18 months, will help you discover ways to help your baby love books! We will share stories, finger plays, songs, nursery rhymes and other activities to help promote early literacy skills. Learn different ways to play and bond with your baby in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Tuesdays at 10:30am: July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17.

 

Starlight Storytime with Ms. Christine. Stories, music, and bedtime snacks for preschoolers and their families. Come in your pajamas and bring your favorite cuddle buddy!

Summer Reading Program

Registration for Summer Reading begins on Monday, June 7th.  Register to read books, attend programs, and complete other activities for cool prizes!

Paul Hadfield - The Funny Guy - In "General Foolishness", Paul combines a broad array of circus skills, music, and physical comedy in his presentation.  Filled with laughter and general silliness, you won't want to miss it.  Starts with an introductory singalong with Miss Christine!

Pirates Play Pretend: Ahoy Mateys! - Welcome to the watery land of make believe...with pirates, mermaids, and fairies a plenty.  Games, stories, crafts and more.  Come dressed up if you desire.  It'll be a wild time!  Aargh!

Deb Scott - Explorations in Science - Watery Wonders is a participatory, fun-filled workshop with a science theme.  Presented by a former teacher and Education Director of the Museum of Scientific Discovery, Deb brings years of science experience to this program.

Make a Splash Water Party - Splash into summer fun with water games and activities.  Wear a bathing suit and prepare to get wet!  Location: Elner Overdeer Park, across from the Borough building at the corner of Catherine and Emaus Streets.

Programs for Teens:

Surfin USA Beach Party:  Can't make it to the beach?  Head to the library for beach ball volleyball, hula hoop and limbo contests, and more!  Complete with beach music from the 60's and your favorite beach foods.  Friday, June 25, 6-8pm

Murder in the Caribbean: 
Can you solve the mystery?  Join us on a Caribbean Pirate Adventure as we talk like a pirate, search for buried treasure, and test your pirate skills to solve the ultimate mystery.  Come dressed to impress and take a chance on winning some great prizes.  Friday, July 9, 6-8pm

Teen Transformations - Just Add Water: 
Explore you creative side.  Transform your t-shirts, socks, and other items at Teen Tie Dye.  Bring in your own T-shirt, towel, socks, or bandana.  Must be 100% cotton.  OR, bring in a pair of flip flops and bling them up with our snazzy supplies.  Or try bubble art where everyone creates their own unique piece of art to be displayed within the library.  Friday, July 23, 6-8pm

Game Night:
  Dive into an ocean of games at our popular game night - more of our 60 second showdown, plus a special Making Waves Family Feud style event!  Friday, August 6, 6-8pm
