Book Discussion Group

  • The first Thursday of every month at 6pm
  • The following titles will be discussed:

January 5:  The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne

January 26 - A special movie screening to go with January's title!

February 2:  The Graveyard Book, Neil Gaiman

March 1:  The Story of Charlotte's Web:  E.B. White's Eccentric Life in Nature & The Birth of an American Classic, Michael Sims

Preschool Story Time  - Theme: "Favorite Book Characters"

Preschool Storytime will be held weekly on Thursdays at 10:30am AND 1:00pm from January 12th through February 16th.

 

Wee Readers - an interactive program designed to help babies love books!

Wee Readers will be held weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30am from January 10th through February 14th.

Programs for Children:

Family Fun Hour:  Select Mondays of each month at 6:30.  Do you and your child love storytime but your child is "too old?"  Come to our new Family Fun Hour just for you!  Kids of all ages will enjoy this special library time complete with stories, crafts, games and activities!

Kids Book Club:  Designed to encourage kids to share and discuss what they are reading.  Designed for kids in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade but all students are welcome.  Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:00pm

        Thursday, April 12, 4pm - THEME: Friendship

Kids Read to PetsBACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!  a once a month program for kids of any age who would like extra practice reading out loud to a trained therapy animal.  Each child receives a 15 minute private session.  Participants must preregister by calling 944-6412.

Programs for Teens:

"What's it Like?" series. Enjoy friends, food, and fun, as we try our hand at new and different activities.  Special guests will be on hand for each topic.  2nd Friday of each month from 6:00-8:00pm.
February 10 - To be a Chef - Guests include a caterer and pastry chef.  Activities include EATING and making our own gourmet creations.
March 9 - To work with Animals - Guests include a veterinarian and an animal trainer.  Live animals will be on hand to practice grooming and training skills.
April 13 - To work in Law Enforcement
May 11 - To work in Healthcare
